UNIVERSITY CENTER – Every senior wants to finish on as high a note as possible, and that will be no different for Ferris State University’s softball senior class.
The Bulldogs’ senior class consists of first baseman Amanda Jager, pitcher/utility player Holly Bruntjens, pitcher/utility player Sarah Mueller, catcher Krystle Bailey and pitcher/utility player Shannon Roney. Whether you’re a four-year senior, a five-year senior, a three-year senior or a one-year senior – it doesn’t matter in this case. A senior is a senior and this is elimination time. It’s going to be up to Ferris’ accomplished senior class to lead the way for these Bulldogs in their most desperate hour.
Ferris is a team with hopes and dreams. Now, however, it is challenged by the prospect of elimination (the end of their 2009 season and their college softball careers). It’s all on the line, and one has to believe that (win, lose or draw) the competitive fires in Bailey, Bruntjens, Mueller and Roney will give it everything they have (while leading their teammates) in the 2009 NCAA Division II Midwest Sub-Regional Tournament in University Center.
These seniors have come way too far to let it slip away without putting up as much of a fight as they can muster on Saturday.
Win, lose or draw – expect these seniors to battle on Saturday.
