BIG RAPIDS – In the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament No. 2, being played at Saginaw Valley State University, Ferris begins its quest to advance to the national championships for the second consecutive season.
The 21st-ranked Division II team in the nation, Ferris (33-8) is seeded second in this sub regional. Saginaw Valley (35-9) is the top seed, Northern Kentucky (31-21) is third and Lewis (38-18) is fourth.
Make no mistake about it; this sub regional is up for grabs as all four teams will come in confident in their ability to advance to the Super Regional.
The first game in University Center, home of Saginaw Valley’s Cardinals, pits Ferris against Northern Kentucky with the start time scheduled for 11:30 a.m.
In game two, Saginaw Valley and Lewis battle at 2 p.m.
This is a double-elimination tournament and the winners of both sub regionals advance to the Super Regional for an opportunity to play for the national championship.
