Tonight, BU looked like the team that we all expected to see this year, by destroying the Minutemen 7-3. Kieran Millan played a solid game in net while the offense lit up the score sheet.
BU drew first blood in the first, when they put their new look power play to work. The Terriers stationed one man behind the net and one at the point. The other three are down low waiting to tip in shots. That's what happened when Colby Cohen took a shot that Umass goalie Paul Dainton stopped, and Nick Bonino jammed home.
Five minutes later, Umass tied the game, when Casey Wellman tipped in a pass from T.J. Syner.
In the final minute of the first period, BU regained the lead as Minuteman killer Alex Chiasson, blasted a slap shot through Zach Cohen's screen. This was Chiasson's third goal against Umass.
The Terriers took a two goal lead in the second. Colby Cohen made a great pass to an open Zach Cohen behind the Umass net. Zach Cohen then scored after he attempted a wraparound. The puck then banked off Dainton, and in.
The Terriers did run into some penalty trouble in the second period. For the whole game, BU took 12 penalties and killed off nine of them. Umass scored all three of their goals on the power play.
BU regained their two goal lead, with only seconds to spare. Colby Cohen took one of his signature slap shots with 8.5 seconds left in the period. Paul Dainton was too slow with his glove and Colby scored his first goal of the game.
In the third BU broke the game open, when Zach Cohen scored his second goal of the game. Kevin Shattenkirk gave Corey Trivino a pass that he one timed on net. Cohen tipped in the shot to give the Terriers a 4-2 lead.

Umass scored their third and final power play goal of the night, when Will Oipped in a Justin Braun pass, on the left post.
Colby Cohen scored on yet an other one timer to give the Terriers their three goal lead back.

“I don’t think anybody’s as effective,” Parker said when asked of Cohen’s ability to one-time the puck, though he did that. “Chris Drury could let it rip. A lot of guys can shoot it hard, a lot of guys can shoot one-timers, but his puck just seems to go in the net. He has his head up, and he’s going just off the pipe and in. He’s as good as they get as far as that aspect of the game.” USCHOUmass tried there luck, when they pulled their goalie to give them a six on three advantage. BU did this in the Cornell game and it payed off. This time though, for Umass it did not end well. Eric Gryda picked up a loose puck behind the goal line and tried to ice the puck. Instead the puck went in and BU won the game 7-3
