Good afternoon PEAC Hockey Parents,
Hope you all had a great holiday and were able to enjoy it with friends and family! We are back in full-swing again and the school is busier than ever. With exams coming up from January 24th-28th I imagine students’ schedules will be jam-packed.
During exam week ice time will still be available for all students at the usual time of 12:00pm-1:00pm, however it will be OPTIONAL for our secondary students in exams.
On Monday and Tuesday of this past week all students participated in off-ice fitness testing. This round of testing is considered their mid-season testing and there will be another round of testing in May. These results will be available on the next set of sport reports scheduled to go out in March. If students missed testing due to absence or injury they are expected to make it up next week.
Player-coach meetings were also held this week where students reassessed the goals they had set back in September and evaluated whether or not they were successful achieving these goals. Why or why not? Students then readjusted their goals and created a new plan or set new goals with the feedback their coaches gave them. Students received feedback, tips and advice from their assigned coaches and are expected to be communicating this information home to you.
Students will be undergoing off-ice testing on February 1st and 2nd. Please ensure that if students cannot participate during these days that you send a note or email to Ms.Quinn (dquinn@peac.ca) the morning of so that we can reschedule for another day that week.
Student Achievements:
CONGRATULATIONS to PEAC’s Jordan Subban and Bryson Cianfrone (Burlington campus) who were named to the Ontario U16 team who will compete in the Canada Winter Games 2011 in Halifax February 11th-27th. Good luck boys! Over the holidays PEAC's Pol Gonzalez participated in the Paul Coffey Christmas Tournament where he scored 2 goals in the final game. He also managed 6 goals and 5 assists throughout the tournament naming him MVP.
Once again, Robert Polesello was representing Canada for our U17 team in the World Hockey Jr. Championship. Rob was the only player on the team that does not play in the Ontario Hockey League. Unlike the highly publicized U20 team, the U17s won this tournament and Rob managed 3 assists in the finals. Great job Rob!
