Doug Christiansen named Head Coach of Belfast Giants

Doug Christiansen, a former Union forward (Class of 2002) and the older brother of Union senior forward Jeff Christiansen, has been named the Head Coach of the Belfast Giants. The Giants play in the Elite Ice Hockey League, and are one of the top team's in the league every year. Doug has played for many AHL teams and other teams around the United States and the world. He recently finished up his tenure with the Edinburgh Capitals of the EIHL.

This past summer I spent some time in Belfast, but since it was not hockey season I was not able to see a game (which I was disappointed by). But, I got to see the outside of the Odyssey Arena, which seemed pretty nice from the outside. Past Giants players include former NHL superstar Theo Fluery.
