"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." - Albert Einstein
Have you ever thought to what degree you limit your own thinking, imagination and/or ambitions? Do you feel/think you are limited or don’t you have any limitations in your thinking, dreams and the things you want to do and achieve in life?
For most people it is quite common to limit their thinking, however it is most certainly something you can change! It starts with realising that you are not limited to the life you live right now and the things you have achieved so far. Most likely it has been accepted by you as the best you can do at this moment.... True for you? Any time you're ready to go beyond the limitations currently in your life, you're capable of doing that by choosing different thoughts. And then….you can do anything you need if you just believe in it!
Each of us earn the income we do today, since that is the amount we have limited ourselves to earn.... Just think about this one (twice)........; and then realise that we could easily earn 3, 6, or even 12 times more if we did not limit ourselves through the thoughts we maintain!
We have the career position we do today because that is the job position we have limited ourselves to have. We could easily take on a much higher job position if we did not limit ourselves through the thoughts we maintain! Don't believe these two challenging statements above are true? Surely you know people who earn much more than you who don't have your education, your unique skills, your passion or your intelligence. So what makes them different and why do they earn much more than you do? Most likely because they think without limits!
Let me help you to stretch your thinking and clear your thought limits, by giving you a couple of inspiring examples.
A good example of someone who does not limit his own thinking is Sir Richard (Dick) Branson who I met in Sydney when he opened up a new Virgin venture a few weeks ago. He has no thought limits to imagine and aspire how and where to utilise his Virgin brand, so he continues building and starting new business models and companies under his Virgin umbrella. All without limiting his own thoughts!
An example of unlimited thinking in the music industry was given by two fellow Dutchies: singers Ray Slijngaard and Anita Doth had no limits in their thinking. Although they were unknown as artists and came from the unknown music country The Netherlands, they both thought they could concur the world. Backed by two Belgium producers they formed a duo and called themselves “2 Unlimited”. During five years of enormous worldwide popularity their success really had no limits; they scored 16 chart hits and sold more than 20 million records and 50 million compilations worldwide!
A truly inspirational example is the story of George Dantzig from the great book “UNSTOPPABLE” written by Cynthia Kersey (http://tinyurl.com/d25mv9). As a college student George studied very hard and always late into the night; so late that he overslept one morning, arriving 20 minutes late for mathematics class. He quickly copied the two math problems on the whiteboard, assuming they were the homework assignment for that week. It took him several days to work through the two tough problems, but finally he had a breakthrough and dropped the homework on the professor's desk the next day. A few days later, on a Sunday morning, George was awakened by his excited professor who called him at 6am. Since George was late for class, he hadn't heard the professor announce that the two unsolvable equations on the board were mathematical mind teasers that even Albert Einstein hadn't been able to answer. But George Dantzig, working without any thoughts of limitation, had solved not one, but two problems that had stumped mathematicians for thousands of years! Simply put, George solved the problems because he didn't know he couldn't.
The golden advice is to keep reminding yourself that you have tremendous reservoirs of hidden potential within you, and therefore you are quite capable of doing anything you set your mind to! All you must do is figure out how you can do it, not whether or not you can. And once you have made your mind up to do it, it's amazing how your mind begins to figure out how. It all starts with allowing yourself to change your thinking without limits!
“There are no great limits to growth because there are no limits of human intelligence, imagination, and wonder.” – Ronald Reagan
"Each of us must do massive right thinking, take massive right action and get massive right results, right here, right now." - Mark Victor Hansen
Have fun thinking and succeeding without limits!
Thanks, warm regards & success,
